An intense, spirited nose, with crushed strawberry and biscuit dominating a background of spices and grenadine juice. This opens to rich flower aromas, roses and peonies, then aniseed, oak and undergrowth, revealing the ageing and maturing process. Initially crisp and quite fresh, almost supple, with delicate effervescence; then the body follows. The blend is rich and mellow with an agreeable hint of acidity.
